2022 AnnoorBots Project: "CARBON CAPTURE"

Studies have estimated an average American’s carbon footprint at around 16 tons of CO2 annually.

A single mature tree, meanwhile, may take in about 50 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.1 At this rate, it would take 640 trees per person to account for all American emissions, which adds up to more than 200 billion trees.

We need more ways to capture CO2 from the atmosphere.

2022 AnnoorMachines Project: "SUSTAINABLE HOUSE"

WE’VE ALWAYS HAD EXTREME WEATHER, BUT HUMAN-CAUSED CLIMATE CHANGE IS MAKING IT A LOT WORSE.

•Heatwaves are now longer, hotter, and more frequent.  •More of our rain comes in the form of torrential downpours that can lead to flooding.  •Hurricanes are stronger, intensify more rapidly, and deliver heavier rain.  •Wildfires burn larger areas and their season has expanded.

Unless we stop emitting heat-trapping carbon pollution, these extreme events will keep getting worse.

OUR PART OF THE SOLUTION: SUSTAINABLE HOMES POWERED SOLELY BY BLUE AND WHITE ENERGY

Team's 2018 Project: "Growing Potato in Space"

  • Though vegetables are grown on the International Space Station; we are yet to try the all nutritious, the mighty starch …. the potato.
  • Face it, this one little brown plant has nearly everything for long term stay in a not very fertile area. So why hasn’t been in space yet?
  • Our team solution is to design an “Innovative Mechanism for growing the potato with the ability to add soil and nutrients safely in space under zero-G”.

Team's 2017 Project "Tech Filter ToGo"

We created a simple and cool water filter in a bottle that can be used by another without access to clean water. We shared our idea to the filtration expect at the Tennessee American Water during our visit and she gave us some suggestions to improve it. We used TinkerCad, 3D online drawing software, to create a cool prototype of our water filter. We also learned a lot using "GoStack" bottles to implement our project with iodine coated tablets to kill the germs.
